We express our warm appreciation to the founders of the kehilla who have invested their hearts, time, and resources to build the organization that exists today:
Founding President - Michael Lurie
Michael Lurie led the initial creation of the kehilla, the foundation of our core values and principles, as well as our
success in building a core group of highly motivated and committed families.
For our first seven months, services were held at Michael and Vanessa’s home until we moved to our present location at the
San Diego Jewish Academy.
For our first two years until our kehilla was in a position to appoint a Rabbi, Michael led our services and programs, including Torah study and lifecycle events. Michael then led our efforts to find and attract Rav Menashe to our kehilla.
The Kehillah celebrated its Fifth Anniversary on Sivan 14th 5768/June 17th 2008!
Thanks to the vision, dedication and hard work of the founders, the kehilla has grown to a community of eighty families.
